"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." ~ Psalm 23:1
- I shall not want - my provisions God will provide.
- I shall not want - another shepherd, He is a loving and caring shepherd, there are none better.
- I shall not want - my confidence is in the Lord not things I shall want nothing but Him!
I shall not want, this is future tense, we Christians are still in the process of fully relying on Him. It starts today it is now this day, this hour, this minute that we must choose to make Jesus our Lord and trust Him. He is ALL we need!
Is Jesus you're all in all? Are you relying on God for your happiness and contentment or are you relying on yourself and the things of this world to "make you happy"?
If you do not know Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord it is as simple as realizing that you are sinner (someone that has done wrong) and are rebelling against God. The Bible says that "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:23. God must punish sin because He is a fair and just God, we can never do enough good to outweigh our bad (For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at one piont is guilty of all of it. - James 2:10). He himself is perfect and with out any evil and can not stand evil. God the Father in His love sent His Son Jesus to earth in human flesh to die and take our sin and punishment on Himself (even though He never sinned) to take our place and provide a way for us to be saved from our deserved punishment (eternity in Hell). He died on the cross and then rose again (prooving that God had accepted His sacrifice in our place). All we have to do is repent (confess our sin and turn from them) believe and accept Jesus as our Savior and submit our lives to His loving care. He will then give you a new heart, He will show you true love and enable you to love like He loves - perfectly and selflessly. He will fill your heart with joy (happiness, contentment and gratitude) that we all long for and were created to want to have.
If you would like to talk to someone about how you can accept Jesus as your Savior and Lord and experience true love and joy, please feel free to message me by using the widget to the right, I would love to talk to you more about this. :)
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things (our needs and even some of our wants) will be added to you. - Matthew 6:33
